Lok Sabha Elections 2024: PM Modi most popular world leader on YouTube, crosses 20 million subscribers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the first global leader to surpass 20 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, placing him well ahead of his peers in India and abroad. PM Modi’s YouTube channel now holds the distinction of being the most followed YouTube channel among world leaders.

On second spot is former Brazilian President Jair Bolsanora with a following of 6.4 million. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Joe Biden are third and fourth on the list with a subscriber count of 1.1 million and 7,94,000, respectively.

Other global leaders with the highest YouTube subscribers include Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan with 4,19,000 subscribers, France’s Emmanuel Macron with 3,16,000 subscribers, Argentina’s Alberto Fernández with 81,200 subscribers and Canada’s Justine Trudeau with 69,600 subscribers.

As of November this year, PM Modi’s Twitter account has 93.1 million followers making him one of the most followed world leaders on the platform which was recently rebranded as X. According to Forbes, Modi is at the eighth spot on a list that has Barack Obama (132 million) on the second spot and Donald Trump (87.4 million) on ninth spot in terms of follower count.
