Indeed, a global hiring and matching platform, has shared insights that reveal Indian businesses are gearing up for changes in hiring in 2024. From what it’s understood, the focus has been on adopting AI and meeting the expectations of Gen-Z employees.
According to an official release, 59% of employees have shown confidence in their ability to adapt and utilise AI tools, indicating that there is likely to be acceptance of AI at work next year. Meanwhile, 19% of surveyed employers are believed to have implemented or are in the process of implementing next-generation technologies, such as Generative AI at the workplace during the coming year.
Data from the report has shown that a majority of Gen-Z employees preferred their workplaces to have flexible work arrangements (38%), purpose-driven work (23%), and technology-driven environments (18%). Moreover, employers are understood to be meeting these expectations as those surveyed have stated that they would prioritise offering flexible work arrangements (26%), a technology-driven environment (24%), and professional development opportunities (20%) to attract and retain Gen-Z talent.
“As the year draws to a close, I believe it’s evident from Indeed’s report that the demand for technology and knowledge workers remains robust. The prevalence of roles such as data analysts, software engineers, sales engineers, project managers, and designers aims to showcase the landscape of expertise sought after by employers. From the rise in Generative AI skills to the importance of programming languages and the demand for expertise in cybersecurity, I think it’s clear that adaptability and upskilling remain pivotal for success in the tech industry,” Sashi Kumar, head of sales, Indeed India, highlighted.
