Its configuration and composition bear a resemblance to our galaxy, featuring youthful blue-hued stars outlining its periphery and mature red-tinted stars clustered nearer to the center.
The radiant spiral galaxy, originally detected by Wilhelm Tempel, a distinguished German astronomer renowned for his comet discoveries in 1882, has since become a significant celestial observation. Tempel’s meticulous study and documentation of roughly 21 comets earned him recognition, with multiple comets named in honor of his contributions.
