The OnePlus Ace 3, which is almost certain to become the OnePlus 12R when it launches globally (India included) on January 23, design reveal is here and basis of everything that’s been shared, we have only one thing to say— that it looks gold. Literally and figuratively. Hot on the heels of launching the OnePlus 12, OnePlus has started building hype around its next product— the OnePlus Ace 3— which could only mean one thing, the launch is right around the corner (rumours peg a January 4 launch).
Ahead of launch, the company has shared a first look teaser video on Weibo with OnePlus China president Li Jie setting the stage for the phone’s hero colourway— Mingsha Gold. The big takeaways? The OnePlus Ace 3 is set to get a glass back and metal frame with OnePlus’s signature alert slider also tagging along on this one. OnePlus goes on to stress how it’s gone the extra mile to build the back panel using a gold-melting glass process so it would feel like metal, more superior – and expensive— than ordinary glass. There should be more options at launch, we are assuming.
The OnePlus Ace 3, as we mentioned earlier, will serve as the template for the India-bound OnePlus 12R, much in the same way the OnePlus Ace 2 was to the OnePlus 11R. An interesting thing to know about the OnePlus 12R is that the OnePlus R-series— which has remained India exclusive so far— is going global with it, for the first time. The 12R will arrive globally alongside the OnePlus 12 on January 23, 2024. Watch this space for more updates.
