Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: Domestic indices recovered losses on Friday and closed in the green territory. The BSE Sensex closed above 60,200 and NSE Nifty 50 above 17950. The Nifty moved in the range of 17,774.25 and 17,999.35 during the day. The 30-share BSE benchmark rose 303.15 pts or 0.51% to close at 60,261.18 and Nifty 50 climbed 98.40 pts or 0.55% to 17,956.60. The top gainers of the Nifty were Adani Enterprises, IndusInd Bank, Eicher Motors, Tata Steel and Infosys while Titan, SBI Life, Apollo Hospital, Nestle India and Larsen & Toubro were the top losers.

China’s Shanghai Composite index ended 31.86 pts or 1.01% higher at 3,195.31 on Friday. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed 224.56 pts or 1.04% to 21,738.66 while Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 330.30 or 1.25% to 26,119.52.
14:28 (IST) 13 Jan 2023 UK’s FTSE 100 reaches four year high
UK’s FTSE 100 rose to an over four-year high on Friday led by robust growth in the domestic economy in November and a boost to risk appetite from a slowdown in U.S. inflation. The blue-chip FTSE 100 rose 0.6%, with the index on track to rise for the second straight week. Financial stocks led gains with HSBC and exchange operator London Stock Exchange Group gaining 1.2% and 1.8%, respectively.

HCL Tech shares recovered early losses and were trading in positive territory. The shares of the IT giant rose 0.71% to Rs 1079.50 after falling 3% intraday. The scrip touched an intraday low of Rs 1042.00 and a high of Rs 1081.60.
14:01 (IST) 13 Jan 2023 Jet Airways shares rise 5% after NCLT decision
Jet Airways shares rose 5%, reaching the upper circuit at Rs 73.9 on Friday after the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) allowed the transfer of Jet Airways’ ownership to Jalan Kalrock Consortium (JKC) and approved the ownership effective date of the resolution plan as November 16, which means the consortium gets six months or 180 days to settle lenders’ dues.

Indices reversed the trend and turned green. The BSE Sensex was trading marginally higher at 60,040.44 and NSE Nifty 50 reclaimed the 17,900 level.

Bank Nifty fell 0.22% to 41,989.80. PNB, IndusInd Bank, IDFC First Bank, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India were the top gainers while Bandhan Bank, AU Bank, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank and Federal Bank were the laggards.
10:47 (IST) 13 Jan 2023 Gold prices near all-time high, big upmove unlikely in near-term
In MCX, gold is trading near all-time high but momentum oscillator is showing signs of divergence. RSI_14 is not yet at overbought zone but any peak in price is not matched by the peak in RSI indicating some caution is needed. The main trigger for this month was US CPI which came in line with estimation but we have not seen any big move in gold indicating fresh investment has not come in and participants have marginally opted to book some profit or take a few fresh open positions.

India’s retail inflation or CPI fell to a one-year low of 5.72% in December, owing to a sharp deflation (-15.08%) in vegetables and easing price pressures in the broader “food and beverages” category, according to official data released on Thursday. The inflation stood at 5.88% in November 2022.
