Indian Railways to operate four special suburban services in Mumbai on New Year’s Eve to service passengers

To serve the influx of commuters on New Year’s Eve, the Central Railway has announced that four special suburban trains will facilitate passengers between midnight of December 31, 2023 and January 1, 2024.These four special trains will cater to the rush as peoplefrom extended suburbs visit famous locations like the Gateway of India in south Mumbai and various beaches to ring in the New Year.

“Of the four special services, two each will be operated on the main line and the Harbour line,” the Central Railway mentioned on Tuesday.

On the Habour line, a special train will depart Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 01.30 hrs and arrive at Panvel at 02.50 hrs. A train will depart Panvel at 01.30 hrs and arrive at CSMT at 02.50 hrs, the Central Railway added.

The Central Railways further said all the four specials will halt at all stations.

Western Railways to run 8 special trains

Western Railways has also announced that it will run eight special suburban services on New Year’s Eve (31.12.23/ 01.01.2024 midnight) for the benefit of passengers,the Divisional Railway Manager- Mumbai Division of Western Railway mentioned on X.
