The eagerly awaited Mangaluru-Madgaon semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express completed its successful trial run on Tuesday, 26th December. The train was flagged off from Mangaluru Central Railway Station at 8:30 AM in the presence of dignitaries like Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, local MLAs, and railway officials.
The trial run covered a distance of 319 km with stops at Udupi and Karwar, reaching Madgaon at 1:15 PM. The return journey started at 1:45 PM and arrived back in Mangaluru at 6:30 PM.
The much-anticipated launch is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is also scheduled to flag off six other Vande Bharat trains in various states on the same day. An official announcement regarding the Prime Minister’s presence at the launch ceremony is currently awaited.

The commencement of the Vande Bharat Express service promises significantly reduced travel time between Mangaluru and Madgaon, boosting tourism and business opportunities in the region.
